Training 365 Board and Train Program

Our Training 365 Board and Train program is designed for dogs struggling with behavioral challenges such as anxiety, reactivity, aggression, resource guarding, and poor impulse control. It is also ideal for owners looking to advance their dog's obedience training and off-leash reliability beyond our Great Beginnings Day Training program.

In this program, your dog will live with me and my own dog in a real home environment rather than a traditional kennel setting surrounded by numerous dogs. This allows us to focus on teaching practical, everyday behaviors that transfer directly into life at home. Unlike many board and train programs, we accept only a limited number of dogs at a time, allowing each dog to receive individualized attention, training, and care throughout their stay. 

Training is customized to each dog's individual needs and may include work on:

• Reactivity & Impulse Control – We help dogs learn to remain calm around triggers, improve focus, and make better decisions in real-world situations.
• Dog & Human Aggression – We work to improve confidence, communication, and decision-making while addressing aggressive behaviors toward people and other dogs.
• Resource Guarding – We address possessive behaviors involving food, toys, people, furniture, and space while teaching healthier coping skills and impulse control.
• Off-Leash Training – Living in an area surrounded by wildlife gives us the opportunity to work around real-world distractions, including deer, coyotes, bears, cats, other dogs, and food temptations while building reliable off-leash obedience.
• Relationship & Engagement - We strengthen communication, engagement, and responsiveness by teaching your dog to look to you for guidance, build trust, and develop a stronger working relationship through structure and clear expectations.
• Household Manners - We address common household challenges such as jumping, counter surfing, door rushing, demand barking, stealing items, and difficulty settling in the home while teaching appropriate behavior and impulse control.

Follow-up support is a critical part of long-term success after completing our Training 365 Board and Train program. That's why every graduate receives four weeks of ongoing follow-up support to help maintain progress, reinforce training, and ensure a smooth transition back into everyday life at home. 

Our board and train program serves dog owners throughout Simsbury, Avon, Canton, Granby, West Hartford, Farmington, Windsor, Bloomfield, and surrounding Connecticut communities.

Program Breakdown:

• 3-week Board and Train program
• Beginning in week #2, owners work directly alongside their dog and trainer during scheduled transition training sessions. These hands-on sessions take place multiple times each week throughout the remainder of the program, either at our facility or in the owner's home within our service area. The goal is to transfer the dog's training to the owner and prepare both for long-term success at home.
• Upon completion of the program, all Training 365 board and train graduates receive 4 weeks of follow-up support to help maintain progress and ensure long-term success at home.

*Transition training sessions conducted in the owner's home are available within our service radius. For clients located outside of this area, transition training sessions may be conducted at our facility to ensure owners receive the necessary hands-on instruction and support throughout the program.

Similar to our 3-week Board and Train program, this option is designed for dogs and owners who may benefit from additional training time. The extended duration allows for increased repetition, greater exposure to real-world environments, additional owner transition sessions, and further development of obedience, behavior modification, confidence, and off-leash reliability.

The additional training time allows us to further develop obedience, confidence, engagement, impulse control, and off-leash reliability while providing increased exposure to a variety of real-world situations and environments.
