Heather

Heather is one of our trainers here at K9 Unified. She holds a degree in Behavioral Science, and she has a passion for helping both people and animals.

Before coming to K9 Unified, Heather combined her love for animals and people by facilitating healing through horses as an Equine Assisted Learning Facilitator at US Horse Welfare and Rescue, a place where horses are rescued and rehabilitated. There, she led several therapeutic programs for children and teens who were significantly impacted by cognitive disorders and were struggling with depression and anxiety.

After seeing how these rehabilitated animals could positively affect others, she decided to apply this experience to her first love: dogs. She now dedicates her time and efforts here at K9 Unified to working with dogs with behavioral issues, participating in service dog training, and helping owners develop training solutions. Ultimately, her long-term goal is to train her own therapeutic service dog.

In her free time, Heather loves spending time with her family, traveling, going on big hikes, and attending sporting events!
